Big bands and orchestras perform, including well-known musicians as well as youth orchestras and soloists. Best of all: all concerts are included in the admission price!

Atze Bauer and the band with wit
Comedy Rock
With "Rock 'n' LOL", band leader Atze Bauer, Jerry Röschmann on bass and Eric Obst on drums have developed their own form of music and made Höchstadt an der Aisch the world capital of modern light music within a few months. "Rock 'n' LOL" (translated: "rock music and loud laughter") stands for humorous lyrics, breathtaking guitar riffs and musical performances with full Ü50 body commitment that simply write rock history. The band's songs have poetic titles that would make even the titans of poetry like Goethe, Schiller and Shakespeare blanch. Thus "Unnütz" (Useless), "Ein Bier auf Hartz IV" (A Beer on Hartz IV) and "Promis im Knast" (Celebrities in Jail) are among the linguistic genius strokes of "Atze Bauer und die Band mit Witz".

When Alex Boldin picks up the guitar, he invites his listeners on a musical journey through the tonal worlds of the acoustic guitar.The winner of the Fingerstyle Collective Guitar Festival 2022 skillfully combines the virtuoso skills and complex techniques of fingerstyle with his intuitive feeling for melodies. This sometimes creates interesting, rhythmic structures, at other times playful, harmonious tone sequences and often tasteful motifs, which interweave both elements cleverly and invite you to dream.After more than 100 live performances on four different continents and in over 15 countries, Alex is now ready to release his first solo guitar album "TIMEout". In collaboration with the renowned Canadian guitarist and producer Antoine Dufour and in cooperation with Timezone Records, 13 selected original compositions will be released at the end of 2022.In the acoustic guitar scene, Alex is no longer a stranger as well - numerous big fingerstyle guitarists such as Andy McKee, Thomas Leeb, Mike Dawes, Calum Graham, Jon Gomm, Alexandr Misko, Trevor Gordon Hall and Maneli Jamal are no longer just among the most formative influences, but also part of his circle of acquaintances.Every single performance and every concert is a true spectacle for eyes and ears and is rounded off by Alex's recognizable dedication and passion for music. HAUPTSTADTBLECH - behind this name are six musicians who met in Berlin during various joint orchestra projects. Since 2005 they have been living out their artistic potential and their love for the capital in this project.
King-Size Juniors
Rock and Swing songs in Big Band style
The "King-Size Juniors" are one of the youngest big bands in Bavaria with an average age of just 15 years, consisting of 25 musicians who present rock and swing songs in big band style with great fun and energy. It is always astonishing with what ambition and group dynamics the King-Size Juniors manage to sound really professional for their age. This formation won first prize at the Big Band Competition 2019 in Marktoberdorf and would have represented Bavaria at the nationwide Big Band Competition in Hamburg 2020 if Corona had not come. This young formation is the 5th generation of the music school "King-Size Musics" under the direction of Peter and Markus König (Haselhöhe 2, 92706 Luhe-Wildenau). The concept of "King-Size Musics" is to offer their students the opportunity to make music in a group as soon as possible. With the subtitle "Big Band Academy", the focus of the musical offer, which ranges from jazz, rock and pop to classical music, becomes clear.

The trombone quartet, newly founded in 2022, was made up of four musicians who have been associated with Kühnl & Hoyer for many years. The trombone quartet plays excerpts from the CD "Lieder & Tänze". They dare to play supposedly simple folk songs and great virtuosic orchestral pieces. They play an original work for trombone quartet with elements of song and dance, as well as original folk music, which was further composed in very different ways and adapted for the quartet.

2 female singers and one male singer, accompanied by a grooving rhythm section with timbales, congas and bongos, interpret classic hits of the genre as well as lesser-known pieces. A 6-piece horn section provides plenty of power. The varied arrangements not only invite you to listen, the music is of course perfect for dancing.
String ensemble from the music school MUSICATION
The string ensemble of the Berufsfachschule für Musik Musication in Nuremberg presents a wide-ranging and "vielSaitiges" repertoire. The ensemble is characterised by its joy of playing, contrasting dynamics and finely differentiated sound design. The programme includes works from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods, as well as music from Ireland, Argentinean tangos and, as a surprise, some hits from pop music.

Windstärke 12 - Musikschule Nürnberg
Windstärke 12 emerged from the first adult wind class and is the next stop for most wind class graduates.
The repertoire is a colourful mix of waltzes and operettas for the annual New Year's concert, films and musicals, and hits and evergreens for the summer concerts.

Under the proven direction of Mathias Wehr, the North Bavarian Brass Band will perform a thoroughly entertaining, lively, virtuoso and sometimes stormy programme with many classics from the brass band repertoire, including "Home of Legends " and "Vitae aeternum" by Paul Lovatt-Cooper, "Flight" by Mario Bürki, "Gospel Brass Machine" by Mark Taylos, "Song for Ina" by Philip Sparke with Meike Reidelbach on solo eufonium. There will also be a work by the conductor - in reference to the wooden bow ties that the band members wear at the concerts, Mathias Wehr has composed "Wooden-Bow-Ties-Celebration" for the 10th anniversary of the North Bavarian Brass Band in 2022.

Symphonic Wind Music
For the second time, the North Bavarian Youth Wind Orchestra will perform a joint concert with the orchestra WiBraPhon under the direction of Prof. Johann Mösenbichler. The joint project celebrated its premiere in 2019 with a performance of the 1st Symphony "Titan" by Gustav Mahler. Under the meaningful and fitting motto for the joint project "Music in Harmony", the musicians with Prof. Johann Mösenbichler will present, for example, Steven Melillo's classic "Godspeed", John Williams' film music blockbuster "The Cowboys" and "Star Wars Theme" as well as the "Fanfare of the Universe" by Siegmund Andraschek and other compositions by Marc van Delft and Percy Aldridge Grainger. Speaking of looking forward: there will be a whole series of musical surprises - so you can really be excited and look forward!

The duo with Michael T. Otto (various brass instruments & live electronics) and Patrick Manzecchi (drums & percussion) has the motto "Groove and sound escapades". You can hear a wide variety of exotic brass instruments, such as the world's first synthetic snail horns, serpent, and didgeridoo developed by Otto, together with drums/percussion and live electronics.
